Yesterday I went to the Lager where the men from Carinola, San Donato, and environs live. I brought them another jar of honey, which they re-sell to the Dutch, who were also deported by the Germans like us. The Dutch are very nice people.

My great grandfather, Benedict Maina, is the brother of Oreste Maina. This past May, my mother, aunt and uncle (dchildren of Anthony Maina, who came to the USA in approximately 1915), sister and I visited Casale Carinola, where the cousins still live. This is incredibly fascinating history; thank you so much for posting it. I have printed the entire contents to send to my mother to read.
